INTER-HOUSE SWIMMING CARNIVAL 2019 – MONDAY 18th FEBRUARY

The Inter-house Swimming Carnival was held at Woree Pool on Monday 18th February.  The house themes of Crikey Cahill, Hippie Heavey, Hutchy 99 and Masquerade Murray were presented with great enthusiasm and the individual house war cries demonstrated house spirit and pride.

The students demonstrated excellent participation in both competitive races and various novelty events such as the 50m swim, ‘keep the ball up’ competition and Noodle relay.  The novelty events were contested fiercely amongst the houses to gain maximum participation points. It was wonderful to see such a high participation and competitiveness displayed by all students in all novelty events. Congratulations to Murray house for reining supreme in the ‘keep the ball up’ and Heavey house for ‘Noodle race’ Novelty events.

The SMCC Seniors displayed a fantastic example of the St Mary’s community spirit through their support in assisting younger year levels to ensure students were on time for their events. House Leaders are to be congratulated in their planning of their war cries and for the event. Many weeks of preparation showed in the running of the carnival and the enjoyment had by all.

Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in many events throughout the day, with Murray reclaiming Champion House.  Congratulations to the following Age Champions, Runners - up and third place finishers.

SMCC INTER – HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY – WEDNESDAY 13th MARCH

The annual SMCC Cross Country was held on Wednesday 13th March at St Mary’s Catholic College. The 4 kilometre course challenged our students to push beyond their limits to achieve as many points as possible for their house. As always our students met the challenge and did not disappoint. It was excellent to see the level of participation and house spirit displayed by all competitors. Congratulations to the age champions and to Murray House, for their 7th win in a row, as well as the top 6 place finishers in each age group, who now progress on to the TCS cross-country.
