The St Mary’s Catholic College Library is a well equipped, welcoming and contemporary learning hub for our students. It offers a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction texts, digital resources and study spaces designed to support learning, and grow a love of reading.

Opening Hours: The Library is open from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, term time.

Maths Tutoring

St Mary’s Catholic College is pleased to offer Maths tutoring to all students. Maths tutoring is available every Monday afternoon from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm in the Library, and is supervised and supported by teachers from the Mathematics Department.

After School Study

The Library is open to all students until 4:30pm each school day. Students are welcome to use this time for reading, research, borrowing resources, and quiet study. Students are required to sign in and out of the Library after school.

Oliver Library App

The Oliver Library app, located on the Student Portal, provides access to the Library’s online catalogue of resources as well as to many useful links to sites and information to assist students with locating eBooks, referencing guides, and accessing their digital textbooks.

Students can receive assistance from Mathematics teachers or use the session as a quiet, supportive space to complete individual work.

Textbooks: All students are provided with both physical and digital access to required textbooks for each of their subject areas. Students are responsible for the care of these textbooks, and repayment will be required to cover the replacement cost of any damaged or lost books Digital textbook access information is available on the NEWS tab of the Oliver Library app in the Student Portal.

Academic Integrity - Plagiarism: Students may be required to submit assignments through Turnitin, a plagiarism-checking platform used to support academic honesty and correct citation practices.

Referencing: Referencing acknowledges the sources used in assessment tasks. St Mary’s recommends APA 7th Edition referencing for all students across all year levels.

Online Resources

The Library website provides access to the online catalogue, research tools, databases and a range of curated resources to assist students with assignments and study.
